Public Outreach

Morning Star Conservancy’s public outreach program is designed to share information with groups in a classroom or workshop setting

In 2024 we hosted educational presentations on a historical overview, cultural relevance, sustainable harvesting, and seed planting, including a workshop for NAC representatives from Oklahoma, Oregon, Arizona, and Canada. It is our priority to educate members of NAC chapters and those whose spiritual practices are utilizing this sacred medicine. However, we also serve as liaisons and offer presentations or workshops for the wider community. We are not advocates of utilizing this medicine for recreational purposes.

A recent well attended public talk at City Ward Hall in Tucson was the first of a planned series of local presentations that include the saguaro cactus planting workshop. Growing our local iconic saguaro gives participants a hands on experience of planting and caring for this cactus as an educational illustration for planting seeds. Although we do advise and assist interested NAC chapters and individuals in establishing their own conservatory sacramental gardens, we are not a source of seeds or plants for others.
