Public Outreach

Morning Star Conservancy’s public outreach program is designed to share information with groups in a classroom or workshop setting

In 2024 we hosted or presented several talks and seed planting workshops, including a 3 day gathering for NAC representatives from Oklahoma, Oregon, Arizona, and Canada. Due to time and resource constraints, out preference is to engage with groups or individuals for whom the gravity of the plight of peyote most directly affects. Although this priority is principally for NAC chapters and their membership, we are also available to liaison and offer presentations or workshops for the wider community of interested organizations and individuals.

A recent well attended public talk at City Ward Hall in Tucson was the first of a planned series of local presentations that will include a saguaro cactus planting workshop. Growing our local iconic saguaro gives participants a hands on experience of planting and caring for this cactus using exactly the same method one would for peyote. Although we do advise and assist interested NAC chapters and individuals in establishing their own conservatory sacramental gardens, we are not a source of seeds or plants for others.
